This Vegan Spinach Dip doesn’t have any cheese or dairy, but you’d never know! Deliciously creamy and dip-able; definitely a crowd pleaser!

What is a food blogger to do when her husband requests spinach dip but can’t eat dairy

She gets to work and develops a recipe, that’s what!

You guys. This spinach dip. It has NO cheese but tastes just like “normal” spinach dip.

Mr. FFF agreed and he is VERY particular about his spinach dip. He thought it was actually better than my homemade spinach Greek yogurt dip which comes loaded with cheese.

It’s perfectly dip-able. Chips, crackers, veggies. you name it. You can dip it.

And, something tells me that you’re going to want to dip away the day.

Why you will LOVE This Recipe

There’s nothing like a good dip recipe to make a plate of veggies, chips and crackers WAY more enticing, am I right or am I right?! Here on the blog I LOVE creating fun and delicious dips to serve at your get togethers, or enjoy ALL by yourself- butter chicken dip with naan bread and crockpot healthy buffalo chicken dip are a couple of my go-tos! Today, I have a raw vegan spinach dip for you that contains NO animal products but tastes just as rich and cheesy as ever. It’s creamy, dreamy, rich and flavorful PLUS it’s made with better-for-you ingredients. Your guests may not even know it’s vegan because it’s just THAT good!

Vegan Ingredients Swaps

Making a bowl of vegan spinach dip recipe is surprisingly just as easy as making regular spinach dip. All you’ll need to do is switch a few of your typical dip ingredients out and voila- a tasty dip, ready to devour! Here are some swaps I made for this dip recipe:

Cream Cheese: Leave out the regular dairy cream cheese and pick up a block of dairy free cream cheese instead!Sour Cream: Same story, different ingredient! Use dairy free sour cream instead of the regular stuff.

Ingredients Needed

Other than switching out the dairy products used to make spinach dip for the dairy-free alternatives, the rest of your ingredients list is pretty straight forward! Here’s what you’ll need to pull together to make your vegan spinach dip easy:

Olive OilGarlicOnion, dicedDairy Free Cream CheeseDairy Free Sour CreamPaprikaSaltFrozen SpinachNutritional Yeast (optional)

How to make Vegan Spinach Dip

Heat up a large frying pan on medium-high heat and add in the oil. Add the garlic and onions once it’s hot and cook, stirring frequently, until the onions are golden brown and everything is soft.

Transfer the cooked garlic and onions to a bowl and add all the other ingredients, except for the spinach. Mix everything well.

Wring It Out

Place the spinach in a thin kitchen towel and wring out as much of the excess water as you can, then add the spinach to the bowl and mix it into the dip.

Serve the dip as desired and enjoy!!

Serving Suggestions

You can get creative with how you want to serve this vegan dip, and I say that the sky’s the limit! Chop up some raw cucumbers, carrots, cherry tomatoes and celery for a cool and healthy summer snack, or put out a bowl of pretzels or crackers to dip in, like you would with my french onion dip! You could even slice up your favorite crusty bread and slather on the dip. Whatever way you choose to enjoy this dip, it will be DELICIOUS.

Vegan Spinach Dip FAQ

Can I make Spinach Dip ahead of time?YES! This dip keeps great when covered and refrigerated, so feel free to make it ahead to save time in the kitchen. It will keep up to 3 days in the fridge.

Can I freeze Spinach Dip?This dip does not freeze well, so I don’t recommend freezing it.

Should I use Fresh or Frozen Spinach?I recommend using frozen spinach for this dip recipe, because it comes conveniently chopped and frozen in cubes. It also provides the right consistency for the dip once it’s been frozen and thawed.
