Christina Hendricks Reportedly Had Beef With ‘Good Girls’ Love Interest Manny Montana Behind The Scenes Of NBC Show, Led To Show Cancellation

Christina Hendricks reportedly had beef with her love interest on Good Girls and it played a role in the network axing the show.
TV Line broke the story, sources say Montana was a major reason the show not coming back for another go.

An insider said the three ladies agreed to take a pay cut and were planning on shooting an eight-episode final season. The show was set to go into production in Spring 2022.

However, last month, Deadline broke the story, NBC decided to cancel the female-lead crime dramedy starring Hendricks, Retta, and Mae Whitman.

Sources say there were efforts to bring Good Girls to Netflix but the talks fell through, despite the show being a huge hit for the streamer.

In the TV Line report, Montana had issues with his pay and schedule for the show. Sources say he had a “strained” relationship with Hendricks and the two did not enjoy each other. He was not willing to take the pay cut given his lack of connection to Hendricks.

In the past, he described working with Hendricks as, “ “We come in, do our job, and then go home. It’s very business-like.”
In 2019, when asked about her love scenes with Montana, Hendricks provided an odd response. She said, “He’s a great actor and we have great chemistry working together and… He’s just… It’s just a very sort of respectful work. You know, it’s funny, because I know people love Beth and Rio. We, of course… love that. It’s exciting and stuff. But it’s not as… it’s much more professional than anyone would think.”

Last year, during another interview, Hendricks revealed Montana called her “Chris” on set despite nobody ever using that nickname. She said, “Manny calls [me]… Chris. No one in my life calls me Chris. It’s not my name. I think it’s totally stupid. And he’s never taken the chance to realize that I hate it. It’s really weird.”

The two will no longer have to deal with each other as the show is officially over.
